Why This Ticket Matters

On December 26, 1960, the Philadelphia Eagles defeated the Green Bay Packers, 17–13, at Franklin Field to win the NFL Championship. The game ended when Eagles great Chuck Bednarik tackled Jim Taylor short of the goal line and remained on top of him as the final seconds expired.

The defeat became the only postseason loss suffered by Vince Lombardi as Green Bay’s head coach. His Packers responded by building one of football’s greatest dynasties, winning five NFL championships over the next seven seasons, including Super Bowls I and II.

This ticket marks the dramatic championship immediately before the Lombardi dynasty—and Philadelphia’s final league title until the Eagles won Super Bowl LII following the 2017 season.
