A ticket from Carlton Fisk’s final major-league game and his record-setting 2,226th appearance behind the plate.
Why This Ticket Matters
On June 22, 1993, the Chicago White Sox honored their veteran catcher during Carlton Fisk Night at Comiskey Park against the Texas Rangers.
Fisk caught his 2,226th major-league game, surpassing Bob Boone’s record for games played at catcher. He went 0-for-2 before leaving the game, and Chicago won 3–2.
It proved to be the final appearance of Fisk’s 24-season career. The ticket therefore connects his last game with the moment he stood alone atop one of catching’s signature durability records.
