A World Series ticket from Cincinnati’s only victory in the 1961 Fall Classic.

Why This Ticket Matters

On October 5, 1961, the Cincinnati Reds defeated the New York Yankees 6–2 in Game 2 of the World Series at Yankee Stadium.

Joey Jay pitched a complete game, while Gordy Coleman homered for Cincinnati. The win evened the Series and gave the Reds their first World Series game victory since their 1940 championship.

This ticket preserves the high point of Cincinnati’s 1961 World Series, a road win against a Yankees club led by Roger Maris, Mickey Mantle, Yogi Berra and Whitey Ford.
