A ticket stub from the World Series game whose final play became one of baseball’s most replayed—and most debated—moments.

Why This Ticket Matters

On October 25, 1986, the Boston Red Sox carried a 5–3 lead into the bottom of the 10th inning of World Series Game 6 at Shea Stadium. With two outs and no one on base, the New York Mets began an improbable rally. After the tying run scored on a wild pitch, Mookie Wilson hit a slow ground ball that passed beneath first baseman Bill Buckner’s glove, allowing Ray Knight to score the winning run.

The Mets’ 6–5 victory forced Game 7, which New York also won. Although the ending is often reduced to one error, the complete rally required several hits and a wild pitch. This PSA-graded stub represents the full drama of a team that refused to make the final out.
