A set of five press passes from the San Diego Padres’ first World Series season.

Why This Ticket Matters

In 1984, the San Diego Padres won the first National League pennant in franchise history and advanced to the World Series against the Detroit Tigers.

The Series opened with two games at Jack Murphy Stadium, where San Diego earned the first World Series victory in club history in Game 2. Detroit ultimately won the championship in five games.

These five press passes preserve the working-media side of that landmark postseason, representing access to the ballpark and field areas during the Padres’ first appearance on baseball’s championship stage.
