1924 Democratic National Convention Stub, Second Session, 6/24/1924, PSA Graded VG-EX
Why This Ticket Matters
The 1924 Democratic National Convention opened at Madison Square Garden on June 24 and became one of the most extraordinary political conventions in American history. Deep divisions within the party produced a record 103 ballots before delegates finally nominated compromise candidate John W. Davis.
The convention lasted 16 days, making it the longest continuously running major-party convention in United States history. Fierce disputes over Prohibition, immigration and a proposed condemnation of the Ku Klux Klan reflected the political and cultural tensions of the 1920s.
This PSA-graded stub survives from the convention’s opening day—a tangible artifact from a famously deadlocked chapter of American presidential politics.
